Sewing Machine Scheme : The Govt. of India has launched a number of initiatives aimed at helping women become economically independent, and one of them is Sewing Machine Scheme. This scheme will allow them to manage their own and their family’s expenses. Under this scheme, the government is going to provide silai machine to the poor women who are registered with the labour welfare board. In different states, the Labour welfare board run this program.

Benefits of Silai Machine Yojana
Under this silai machine programmes, the eligible women candidates will receive Rs. 15000 for purchasing a silai machine. Eligible women are also provided with free silai machine training. During this training period, the candidates will also receive a daily allowances of Rs. 500.
Eligibility criteria for Sewing Machine Scheme
- Candidates must be a female citizen.
- The minimum age of the candidates should be 20 years.
- The maximum age of the candidates should not exceed 50 years.
- Family income of the applicants should not more than 1.50 lakhs.

- The main motive behind the scheme is women empowerment. Through this scheme, women can start their own money and they will able to pay their own & their family’s expenses. It will specifically improve the status of women in rural areas.
