What is Jal Jeevan Mission ?
Jal Jeevan Mission is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Under this scheme, each household is assured a regular supply of 55 litres of water per capita per day ensuring sufficient water for drinking, cooking and basic domestic needs. Initially targeted for completion in 2024, the scheme’s deadline has been extended to 2028.
