Fashion designer and former New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn launched her second collection with ShoeDazzle—the online retailer known for its celebrity collaborations—in December. The collection includes four new pairs of shoes, including a leopard print bow pump and animal print wedges.

For those unfamiliar with Christine Quinn, she was elected as speaker of New York City’s city council in 2006 and served until 2013. Before joining the city council, she worked as chief-of-staff for then-City Council Member Eva Moskowitz before going on to serve as chief-of-staff for Governor Eliot Spitzer.

A graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Columbia Law School, she has been an adjunct professor at Columbia University since 2005.

Christine Quinn recently teamed up with shoe retailer ShoeDazzle to launch her second collection with them. Since joining forces in October 2012, Christine Quinn and ShoeDazzle have sold out their first collaboration within five hours of it becoming available online.

Christine Quinn and ShoeDazzle came together to create two collections in just over a year. And while they’ve already released two looks, they aren’t stopping there: Their third collection will be available soon.

When asked what she hopes people will get from her line, Christine Quinn said: I’m hoping people can feel like me when I’m wearing my clothes. Christine Quinn told Glamour magazine last fall that she thinks of herself as the fashionista’s fashionista.

The collection includes a few signature pieces from last season like bright teal platforms with cutout details, embellished sandals, and leather ankle boots with pyramid studding. I just love shoes, Christine says about her first shoe collection with ShoeDazzle. I wanted to do something very different from what was out there already because there are so many shoe brands out there already!

When you ask most people who Christine Quinn is, they will probably tell you that she is an accomplished woman. In addition to her duties as speaker of the New York City Council, Christine runs a successful consulting firm, represents companies across several industries as a lobbyist, and serves on boards around town. On top of it all, she also happens to be an actress and fashion designer who recently launched her second collection with ShoeDazzle.
