Arundhati Gold Scheme: The Arundhati Gold Scheme was introduced by the Assam government from the financial year 2019-20 to assist economically weaker families in gifting gold to their daughters. Recognising gold as an auspicious and valuable asset, this scheme provides an exclusive financial incentive of Rs. 40,000/- for the purchase of gold.

This assistance is intended solely to improve the social and economic status of the bride and is transferred directly to her bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Eligibility Criteria Arundhati Gold Scheme

The Government of Assam has laid down the following eligibility criteria for availing the benefits of the Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme:

The bride must be a permanent resident of Assam.

The bride must have attained the age of 18 years.

The groom must have attained the age of 21 years.

Both the bride and groom should have passed the 10th grade.

The bride’s family’s annual income should not exceed Rs.5,00,000/-.

Marriage registration is required for the application.

The marriage should have taken place on or after 01-12-2019.

The marriage must be registered on or after 01-01-2020.

No educational documents are required for Tea Tribe and Indigenous applicants.

Documents Required for Arundhati Gold Scheme

Applicants had to attach these documents:

Proof of age (HSLC certificate, birth certificate, or equivalent).

Income certificate of the bride’s parents.

Copy of the bride’s bank passbook.

Attested copy of marriage certificate.

A certificate confirming it was the first marriage, issued by Gaonburah or Mouzdar.

Aadhar cards of both bride and groom.

Bank account details of the beneficiary.
